Effects of Silicon Application and Groundwater Level in a Subirrigation System on Yield of a Three-Cut Meadow

The increasing demand for food and animal products makes it important to ensure that animals have sufficient fodder obtained from grassland. Unfortunately, there has been a recent decline in grassland areas, which essential find solutions increase the grassland’s productivity quality of yields. One these may be use appropriate irrigation fertilization. present study investigated effect foliar application silicon fertilizer groundwater level subirrigation system on yield three-cut meadow. Four different experimental plots were used: high (HWL), with (HWL_Si), lower (LWL), (LWL_Si). analyses showed significantly reduced amount dry matter each three meadow cuts during year. Furthermore, plot higher had an annual 12.69 Mg·ha−1, whereas when was applied this area, 10.43 Mg·ha−1 (17.8% reduction matter). A similar trend noted at water levels, also caused reduction. However, experiment did not indicate statistically significant plant height NDVI values. These results show further research is still needed better understand silicon’s sward.
